My name is Brady Wheatley. I am originally from Rhode Island, but have only recently returned from living abroad. Growing up, I attended a number of Rhode Island Schools (South Country Montessori School, EWG, Community Prep, Wheeler) and graduated from a small boarding school in Maine. I studied Anthropology and International and Global Studies at Brandeis University. During my undergraduate I traveled several times, teaching abroad in Tanzania and teaching and studying in Bolivia. International education fascinated me, and upon graduating I moved to Puerto San Carlos, BCS, Mexico where I was the Student Affairs Manager at The School for Field Studies for just over three years. I taught environmental education in the local middle school, and worked with high school and college students studying abroad. I realized that some of my favorite parts of my job included designing and delivering a cultural awareness curriculum to students and decided to continue working within the study abroad field. I moved with my partner, who is now my husband, to a small island in The Bahamas to work at The Island School. I was the Dean of Students and History Department chair for the past several years and wore many different hats. My husband and I got married last June in The Bahamas close to our home there. In December I moved back to RI to finish my Masters' of Ed through UMass Boston, and have just accepted an offer as Dean of Students and History Teacher at a private school in Providence this fall.
